On Sept 3, 2018, at 8:45am me and mom arrived at the American Idol auditions in Richmond, VA. Auditions started at 8am but judging by the line, it looked like it started the day before🙄 As soon as we got on the hotel transit bus to ride to the audition location, I realized I had left my audition ticket...so the driver had to turn back around after we were right there in front of the place. When we got to the hotel mom and I ran upstairs to print out my ticket in the print room. When we returned to the location the line was wrapped around two buildings outdoors. I looked at my mom dropped my head and said, "Mom I just want to leave. I don't know about this. We're late and I dont even know how this will turn out now." She looked at me and said, "Let's just see what happens. You've spent all this money on this trip." There were other things that happened to discourage me but my mom wouldn't allow me to give up. She's the real winner. Finally got in after waiting for 6 hours. The experience was great. Shot out to my bestfriend who held me down and talked to me during the drive to Richmond to keep me awake the night before, I love you sweetheart and to the new people I met at the auditions...yall are so amazing! We all helped keep eachother sane during the wait lol. It was the most nerve wracking, rewarding experience. It shows you that you can do anything you put your mind to. Auditions like these aren't for the weak.👊🏽And I learned that no matter how it looks, never count yourself out!🙏 I'm blessed to have such an amazing support team.
